A yellow Amanita. These mushrooms were found out by the Joyce Street Skytrain station.
Earthball mushrooms (Scleroderma sp.). When you stomp on them, they release a cloud of black spores - it's dandelion-clock-fun. On the left: intact earthballs; on the right: a squished one.
These are elfin saddle mushrooms, Helvella lacunosa.

My friend Sonya tipped me off about these ones. These are Amanita muscaria mushrooms, and they're growing out at UBC.
An Amanita "egg" emerging from the ground. The white covering is called a universal veil - as the mushroom grows, this will break apart and become the white spots.
